Anna
Anna got into the bull business by accident when she was given a heifer whose mother had died. The calf was so tiny that she had to be confined to a bucking chute so it couldn't escape. Anna at this time was nine years old and told her dad tha she was going to halter break the calf. When she crawled down into the chute the feisty little calf chased her out of the chute. Climbing out of the chute with eyes wide open, Anna told her dad that she didn't think that the calf needed to be halter broke after all! And so the story of Orphan Annie began. As time went on and Annie grew she became apart of the calf roping herd and eventually in the team roping but ran far too hard to be any good to practice on. At a junior rodeo she was put in the draw when there wasn't enough stock for the boy's steer riding and nobody came close to riding her. (The complete story was featured in an article in the American Cowboy Magazine.)
